Today was a good day :)

Got up bright and early to on a tour of the White House!! Been waiting about 6 months for this tour, so I was really glad the day had finally come. I was really pissed at the people who flaked on me, but whatever it was most definitely their loss.

It was extremely cold this morning and waiting on the metro I think was the only really shitty part of the day. The tour was pretty nice. You don't get to see much, but what you do get to see is really spectacular. There is just so much history in that house. My favorite room we saw was the Red Room, it was really beautiful. The visitor center across the street also has a lot of pictures and facts about the white house to look at. At the little gift shop I got some really nice postcards, some replica prints of paintings of Ronald Reagan, John F. Kennedy and an American Flag painting.

After the White House we decided to go to the National Aquarium since it was only a block away and $5. Its a small exhibit, but for $5 it was pretty cool. After that we hopped back onto the metro and went downtown to get some lunch. Stopped at the Matchbox. It's a cool little restaurant, nice atmosphere. Then we met up with the rest of our group who went to another place for lunch and got some much needed rootbeer floats!!

A crowded metro ride home and it was time to rest! It was good to be inside out of the cold!!! Went out later with Jami to do some Cosmic bowling over at NNMC...it was fun! and cheap! the best part HAHAHA!!!

Today was just a really nice day out with some friends. Much better than my usual un-social couch surfing self :)

A new year...woop de doo. Back to work....boooo! back in DC :(

being home for xmas was fabulous. The weather was wonderful and i really did get to do everything I wanted to. Half way through I was like oh my god, I still have a whole week still! Everything was really great.
Now I only have 3 months to go, seems like a cake walk. I have already started making plans for graduation, my mom already bought her plane tickets, and I have even started the planning of the big return party in April.
I can't wait to be done with this phase of the Army and be onto the next. It has been along long road from Missouri to D.C. Same as anywhere else, I have met a lot of people, and have found very few that I think I might actually miss when this tour is over.
